The Pump House Surgery is a research practice.
Research can:
- Find new and better ways of preventing, diagnosing and treating diseases or conditions
- Test new ideas that could improve the lives of people receiving health or social care
- Look at the costs and benefits of making changes in the community. Examples include introducing exercise programmes or screening for cancer in certain age groups
- Help us understand how NHS and social care services can run in a more efficient way.
For more information visit the National Institute for Health and Care Research website.
When research projects become available, we will post them on this web page. This will include a little information about each study.

Be Part of Research
Be Part of Research is a free service which makes it easy to find and take part in vital health and care research across the UK.
Every time someone receives treatment for a health condition, it’s because of the many people who take part in health and care research.
Research is key to developing new treatments, finding better ways to manage health conditions and providing better care. Or preventing people from developing conditions in the first place.
Simply choose which health conditions you’re interested in and they will match you to suitable research studies – then you decide if you’d like to take part.
Find out how to take part in research and for further information go to the Be Part of Research website.
